TRANSPORT
The transport division renders following services:
AMBULATORY SERVICES Ambulances are provided in the Emergencies of Nehru Hospital, Advance Pediatric Centre and Advance Cardiac Centre round the clock seven days a week. FREE SHUTTLE SERVICES Seven Swaraj Mazda were providing free shuttle services at the intervals of 10 minutes for transporting the patients from Main Gate, Nehru Hospital, Rotary Sarai, Hansraj Dharamsala to Advance Cardiac Centre, Advance Eye Centre & New OPD and vice versa. Shuttle boarding sign boards are displayed at various locations for the information of public. BATTERY OPERATED VEHICLES Four Battery Operated vehicles donated by State Bank of India are deployed for transportation of Senior Citizen and differentially abled persons from main gate to New OPD and Vice Versa. HEARSE VAN FOR CADAVER DONORS Two hearse vans, one for shifting dead bodies with in PGI premises another for van is exclusively deployed for transporting the organ donors body to their native place. A total numbers of 31 bodies of cadaver donors were transported during the year. BIO-MEDICAL WASTE MANAGEMENT Two sanitation vans were deployed for transporting bio- medical waste as per the guidelines of bio-medical waste management board. BLOOD DONATION CAMPS A specially designed vehicle was deployed with the Blood Bank for safe transportation of blood from various donation sites in the adjoining states of Himachal, Punjab and Haryana to the blood bank of the institute. A total number of 487 blood donation camps were attended by this vehicle during the year 2018-19.
FIELD/TEACHING PROGRAME Various vehicles were provided to the National Institute of Nursing Education, School of Public Health, Oral Health Sciences Department, Advance Pediatrics Centre & ENT Department for timely completion of teaching-cum-training program & field visits.
STAFF BUSES Two staff buses deployed against the outlived staff buses to pick and drop PGI Staff members to and fro from the Institute, covering the entire the three shifts of duties seven days a week. SECURITY SERVICES Three motorcycles are provided to the Security Department for patrolling round the clock. FIRE SERVICES A high-tech fire tender manufactured on Tata 207 vehicle is deployed round the clock to avoid any fire incident. LOCAL/OUTSTATION TRANSPORTATION SERVICES Local Transport facilities i.e. pick up and drops to and from Airport/Railway Station were provided to the faculty member of the institute for various official trips, national and international conferences. A total number of 6222 requests were received by the transport section during the year 2018-2019 for local and 271 outstation requests were received. COURT CASES Vehicles were provided to the Doctors for attending the various Court evidences at Chandigarh and adjoining states of Punjab, Himachal, J & K, Haryana & Uttaranchal. A Total number of 27 requests for court cases were received by the transport section during the year 2018-2019. |
