INTRODUCTION

The laundry plant is responsible for providing clean and quality washed linen after collecting dirty/soiled linen from all hospital areas i.e. Operation theatre’s, the Indoor wards, Out patient dept., Intensive Care units of Nehru hospital, Advanced Pediatrics center, Advanced Eye center & Advanced Cardiac center. Laundry plant remains functional on all 365 day in a year in order to ensure uninterrupted timely supply of the washed linen.

Objectives of department

The objective of the department is to provide adequate quantity of the right quality linen at the right time at right place to indoor patients, operation theatres and the other patient care areas of the hospital.

“Linen standardization committee” is functional in the hospitals. The committee is also authorized to recommend guidelines for the linen in a hospital.

3 Jobs of urgent nature receive adequate priority.

4 Accounts kept systematically.

5 Timely requisitions for procurement of store items.

6 Consideration of economy & staff work at full efficiency.

7 Suitable statistics of the life of each linen.
