Staff Clinic at PGIMER, Chandigarh was established in early 70s with the objective of providing health services (Preventive, Promotive and Curative) to eligible PGI employees and their dependants. Initially it was started with the services of 02 doctors, 01 Staff Nurse, 01 clerk and 02 Hospital Attendants. 02 more posts of doctors and 01 more post of Staff Nurse was sanctioned in year 1991. With the increase in number of employees, 01 more post of Medical Officer was sanctioned in year 2008 and subsequently 01 more in year 2014.
At present, there are more than 28,000 beneficiaries registered in Staff Clinic including 7338 regular employees and their 13385 dependants; 51 adhoc employees and their 39 dependents; 28 deputation employees and their 46 dependants; 553 Senior Residents and their 405 dependents; 456 Junior Residents; 832 paramedical students; 2598 pensioners and their 2151 dependents.
Medical facilities are provided as per Central Civil Services (Medical Attendance) Rules, 1944 as amended from time to time.

Location: Staff Clinic is located at Level-III, A-Block, New OPD, PGIMER, Chandigarh (Room numbers: 3119 to 3122 and Room no. 3118 (Office). Staff Dispensary from where prescribde medicines are provided is located at level-II, B-Block.
Objective: To provide comprehensive health care including preventive, promotive and curative services to eligible PGI employees and their dependants and other functionaries as mentioned above.
